Cost of 12 Days of Christmas Up 10.9% from Last Year
(according to PNC Wealth Management)

PNC Wealth Management reports that the cost of the traditional 12 Days of Christmas items rose 10.9% last year.

Here are the details:

A partridge in a pear tree now costs $220 ($20 for the partridge and $220 for the pear tree). [2007: $165]

Two turtledoves costs $55. [2007: 40]

The cost of three French hens is lower this year, only $30. [2007: 45]

The cost of four calling birds is unchanged, at $60.

Five golden rings costs less this year, at $350. [2007: 395]

Six geese a laying experienced a sharp cost reduction, now only $240. [2007: 360]

Seven swans a swimming now costs $5,600. [2007: 4,200]

Eight maids a milking runs $52. [2007: 47]

Nine ladies dancing is unchanged at $4,759.

Ten lords a leaping is still quite a value at $4,414. [2007: 4285]

Eleven pipers piping costs $2,275. [2007: 2,213]

Twelve drummers drumming increased slightly to $2,475. [2007: 2,398]

Total cost in 2008: $86,609. [2007: 78,100]
