Grammar Bits
Are there some words or phrases that stop you in your tracks? Do you have a feeling that the word you want to edit out of a document is incorrect, but you're not exactly sure? Here are a couple of mine...
Toward or towards? Both are correct and interchangeable. British writers typically use "towards;" Americans use "toward."
Farther or futher? Farther denotes physical advancement in distance. Further denotes advancement to greather degree, as in time. We'll walk farther down the road to further our objective.
